To gather this information we researched each dehumidifier, and many more, individually and looked at topics such as extraction rates, filter type, coil coating and many more.
The Prem-I-Air ‘Xtreem 10’ dehumidifier is a great little work horse. Unfortunately it lacks a few features that the more expensive dehumidifiers have but for a dehumidifier which is available for less than £100 it really is very good.
The Ebac 2650e is a dehumidifier with a very large capacity in terms of extraction rate and the size of the water tank. Remember though that compressor dehumidifiers don’t extract as well as desiccant models so therefore their actual extraction rates will be well below what is stated in the manual. The Ebac 2650e has hydrophilic coating on its coils which can make the dehumidifier up to 40% more efficient than other, similar, compressor dehumidifiers.

For outdoor use you can’t beat the Meaco DD8L Junior and we have written extensively about the Meaco range on this site. We personally own the Meaco DD8L and would recommend it, and the range, very highly as Chris Michael and the team have done a fantastic job producing these UK dehumidifiers.
In fact we like the Meaco DD8L so much that we would place it as the best desiccant dehumidifier in the list above however then there would two Meaco dehumidifiers in the list. The EcoAir DD122MK5 is an excellent dehumidifier and features a movable 3D louvre which is something that the Meaco does not have. Elsewhere on Byemould I have compared the EcoAir DD122MK5 to the Meaco DD8L.
