The Duronic DH05 mini dehumidifier is a dehumidifier suitable for smaller spaces such as box rooms etc. Its light weight and handle means that the unit is very portable making it easy to transport from room to room.
Before we begin our review let’s have a quick look at who Duronic actually is.
Duronic is a British company which launched in 2005 and produces household goods such as baby monitors, ice cream makers, travel bags, tv mounts and many other items. Though the brand is largely recognised in the UK and EU the company makes sales world-wide.
When buying Duronic goods you are buying a good well recognised brand.
We will start this review with a brief summary of the Durinic DH05 features and specs before going into detail on the main points.

The stated extraction rate is 250ml of moisture per day.
Other mini dehumidifiers such as the vicTsing 2L dehumidifier were tested in climates of 30°C and 80% relative humidity. We couldn’t find out the test climate for the Duronic DH05 but we assume that it was tested in the same type of climate.
Because our climate is a little, let’s say, less warm you will probably find that the unit will actually extract less than 250ml per day.
The water bucket is 500ml in size so it will take a few days to fill up. The bucket is made of clear plastic so you can look into the tank without having to remove it. This way you can remove the tank before it gets too full for optimum efficiency.
When the water tank does get full the Duronic DH05 will stop operating and a warning light will come on alerting you to empty the container. The DH05 will only operate again once the water tank has been emptied and reinserted correctly.
A little bonus use is that the collected water should be nearly mineral free so you can use it to fill up your iron. Don’t drink the collected water though.
The Duronic DH05 is a peltier dehumidifier and peltier dehumidifiers are not loud. We haven’t found an actual decibel reading however we would suggest from our experience with this type of dehmuidifier that it operates in the 35-38 db(A) range.
The sound is like a slight humming sound and as each person is different only you can tell whether you can sleep with the dehumidifier on.
The DH05 only uses 22.5 watts of power which is less than half of a standard 60w light bulb. While energy tariffs differ amongst energy companies the typical operating costs would be around 10 pence or 12 euro cents per day.
Remember too that a dehumidifier generates heat as its working and this heat is released into the room which can save you on heating costs.
So taking into account the above the Duronic DH05 is very cheap to run.
Who is The Duronic DH05 For?
The Duronic DH05 is suitable for smaller spaces such as box rooms, pantries, wardrobes, small caravans and other small spaces. One purchaser recommended that the Duronic DH05 should only be used in rooms measuring 11 x 8 feet or less.
Just be aware that this particular dehumidifier does not come with a continuous drainage facility so if you are looking for a caravan dehumidifier you may want to choose a different dehumidifier.
One reviewer said that they use the DH05 for their bathroom window and that they are satisfied with the results.
Note that the DH05 is mains powered so it is not ideal for use in a car.
The Duronic DH05 only has one ‘on’/’off’ setting so this unit is unable to set a specific target humidity level.
The Duronic DH05 mini dehumidifier comes with a standard 2 year warranty which shows Duronics confidence in the quality of this unit.

We like the Duronic DH05 mini dehumidifier and so should you. This is a basic mini dehumidifier and that is reflected in the price.
The features are fairly standard for a mini dehumidifier however we like the see through water tank and the low running costs of this unit. Provided that the DH05 is used in the correct size room you should have no problems with this unit.
There are many mini dehumidifiers on the market and while the Duronic DH05 doesn’t have the features of the larger Futura 2L mini dehumidifier it will certainly do a great job when compared to other true mini dehumidifiers.
Also in order to clarify an often asked question; the adaptor cable sits on the rear of the unit, near the bottom, in the middle.
The Duronic DH05 mini dehumidifier rates 4.3/5 on Amazon from well over 500 reviews so you know that you are buying a quality item.
