In our previous guide 5 Best Dehumidifiers For Under £100 we only saw the inclusion of compressor dehumidifiers.
Our new price range allows not only for the introduction of desiccant dehumidifiers but also some of the best dehumidifiers on the market today.
By spending a bit extra you will significantly improve the features and extraction rate of your dehumidifier.
This guide will allow you to choose the best dehumidifier for you to buy in minutes rather than hours.
We have featured 5 desiccant dehumidifiers and 4 compressor models for your easy selection.
The Ecoair DD122FW rates 4.6 / 5 stars on Amazon from nearly 1,700 reviews so you are buying a very popular quality dehumidifier.
The DD122FW is a manual dehumidifier (ie it doesn’t toggle into more efficient settings automatically ) which features a silver nano anti-bacterial filter which provides a cleaner air than ordinary dust filters.
Other features include a rotary humidistat, a continuous drainage option, auto restart, laundry mode and a very low volume level in the low fan setting of just 34 db(A).
You are buying excellent features at an excellent price!
This Meaco dehumidifier has all the features that you need including a timer, laundry mode, various fan settings and an anti-bacterial filter which is complemented perfectly by an ioniser.
However the best feature of this Meaco dehumidifier is that it contains Control Logic technology which allows the dehumidifier to run for just 10 minutes out of every hour once the set humidity level has been reached. For the other 50 minutes the machine automatically turns itself off for maximum energy savings.
The DD8L compact will bring down the humidity levels in a standard sized house and as a result it will eliminate mould, fungi and odours in areas where it is used.
We personally own one of these dehumidifiers and love it!
If you are looking for a smaller discreet dehumidifier then the De’longhi DNC65 is right up your alley.
Weighing in at just 5.5kg and measuring 18.7 x 32.4 x 48.3cm the DNC65 can be easily concealed out of view. The lowest operating volume is stated at just 34 db(A) making this unit possibly the quietest dehumidifier on the market.
There are loads of other great features too and these include a timer, a continuous drainage facility, 3 different power levels, laundry mode and a moveable louvre with which you can direct the warm air flow.
De’Longhi is known for many types of appliance but with the De’Longhi DNC65 dehumidifier they’ve done a very fine job indeed.
If you want a large extraction rate then the Toyotomi TDZ80 Home Dehumidifier is for you. With a stated extraction rate of 8 litres per day this unit is ideal for any domestic job.
The TDZ80 is loaded with features such as laundry mode, continuous drainage, a timer, an anti-bacterial filter, an ioniser and many more.
However it is Toyotomi’s Fuzzy Logic Control which impresses us the most. Like the Meaco DD8L Compact listed above the TDZ80 automatically slips into fan only mode once the target humidity level has been reached. Accordingly up to 40% energy savings can be made.
Available in both boy and girls colours – blue and pink – the EcoAir DD122MK5 is the second best-selling dehumidifier on Amazon (only lagging its little brother the EcoAir DD122FW Simple which is mentioned above).
The DD122MK5 is a fully automated dehumidifier which automatically toggles between settings to find the most efficient setting for the current humidity level. The unit also contains basically every feature which you will need including laundry mode, a timer, over-dry protection and continuous drainage to mention a few.
EcoAir’s energy-saving technology is called E7 technology and like the Meaco DD8L and the Toyotomi TDZ80 mentioned above the DD122MK5 automatically toggles into fan only mode once the set humidity level has been reached. Obviously such a feature allows you to save bundles of money when it comes to running costs.
What we really like about the DD122MK5 is the perfect combination of the Silver Nano anti-bacterial filter and the ioniser. The resultant air is much cleaner and healthier as it is devoid of mould spores, fungi, pollens and an excess number of positive ions. As such breathing becomes easier and those suffering from hay fever and asthma could see an improvement in their symptoms.
The Meaco 12L Low Energy is a large dehumidifier that has a stated extraction rate of 12 litres per day.
The good news is that maximum wattage is just 165w which is just incredible for a unit of this size. This low operating wattage makes running costs very cheap and large energy bills will be a thing of the past.
Features include laundry mode, a child lock, a moveable louvre, intelligent logic energy-saving technology, castor wheels and many more. There is also an optional HEPA filter available.
The Meaco 20L Low Energy dehumidifier is part of Meaco’s Platinum range which brings the best features at very affordable prices.
A Great Little Work Horse
7. EcoAir DC12 Dehumidifier
It was a difficult choice to decide between the EcoAir DC12 and the EcoAir DC18 as they are essentially the same machine apart from the fact that the DC12 has a 12 litre extraction rate and the DC18 an 18 litre extraction rate.
Both units are very popular and contain the same features which include a LED display panel, auto restart, continuous drainage, castor wheels, cable ties, a soft touch control panel and many more.
Any dehumidifier that rates 4.7/5 from nearly 700 reviews on Amazon is worth its weight in gold.
It seems like the De’Longhi Dem 10 has been around forever, and rightly so! The Dem 10 is sturdy and is probably the most popular compressor dehumidifier on the market today.
The Dem 10 is ideally suited to rooms only as its stated extraction rate is just 10 litres which is quite small for a compressor unit.
There are two features which you wouldn’t expect to find on a dehumidifier of this size. The first is a continuous drainage option and the second is an electronic anti-frost setting for winter time use.
All in all the Dem 10 is a tough little nut and should be on your list if you want to buy a smaller compressor dehumidifier.
Last but not least we offer the Trotec TTk50e which has a great rating on Amazon.
We think that the Trotec TTk50e is a great domestic dehumidifier to eradicate your mould problems as its 16 litre per day extraction is suitable for most domestic work.
The 16 litre extraction rate is higher than the standard lower extraction rate band of 12 litres and lower than the high band of 20 litres. It actually sits perfectly in the middle!
The TTK50e contains an integrated hydrostat, defrost mode, overflow protection and many other great features.
We have found the Trotec TTk50e to be a popular seller on Amazon and with the ratings it has you can’t go wrong.
9 Best Dehumidifiers Between £100 – £200
We hope that the above guide has made your search for a dehumidifier easier.
The main thing to remember is that if the average temperature that your dehumidifier is operating in is over 20°C then buy compressor dehumidifier. If the average temperature is under 20°C then buy a desiccant model.
If you have any questions on the above models please let us know in the comments below.
