As previously stated at ByeMould we love Meaco dehumidifiers. In fact I personally own the Meaco DD8L desiccant dehumidifier and couldn’t be happier with it. Therefore it gives me great pleasure to review the Meaco ‘Mini D’ Mini Dehumidifier.
Water Tank
The Meaco ‘Mini D’ Mini Dehumidifier is a true home mini dehumidifier and as such it does not have the water tank feature of full size dehumidifier.
Desiccant Gel
The ‘Mini D’ is a safe, natural dehumidifier as it is desiccant based. Being desiccant based means that the dehumidifier takes moisture out of the air via a small cassette of silicant gel. This silicant gel absorbs moisture in an environmentally manner.
Recharging
When operating the ‘Mini D’ does not need electricity. However this mini dehumidifier recharges like a mobile phone. You simply plug it into the mains and unplug it when it is recharged.
The front of the unit shows two lights:
- A green light means the unit needs recharging
- An orange light means the unit is recharged
A metal plate inside the mini dehumidifier heats up when the unit is recharging. This plate dries the moisture in the unit therefore the Meaco ‘Mini D’ will feel warm as it recharges.
A great tip is to turn the unit upside down when recharging as it dries faster.
Where to Use
The ‘Mini D’ has a thousand uses however it should be used in small spaces only. Photographers, coin collectors, musicians and antique collectors etc will find this mini dehumidifier invaluable.
Uses, are not limited too but, include:
- Cupboards
- Wardrobes
- Drawers
