Hay fever is also known as seasonal allergic rhinitis and is caused by pollen such as tree, weed and grass pollen. Mould spores, due to a damp area, also bring on hay fever symptoms.

Around 20-25% of the UK population exhibit signs of hay fever symptoms and 95% of these sufferers are allergic to grass pollen.

Perennial allergic rhinitis, a close relative of seasonal allergic rhinitis, lasts year round and is attributed to house mite and pet allergies.

The dehumidifier brings down the humidity level of the living space and, in turn, it eradicates breeding grounds for mould. Hence mould spores won’t affect you any longer.

There are both positive and negative ions in the air and those with respiratory issues such as hay fever or asthma find breathing difficult due to the presence of the positive ions. Therefore a dehumidifier with an ioniser is necessary.

The ioniser releases negative ions into the air. These negative ions then attach themselves to positive ions, such as dirt and pollen. The enlarged ion is too heavy to stay in the air so they fall either into the dehumidifiers filter or onto the ground where they can be hoovered up.
