Meaco DD8L Dehumidifier

Meaco DD8L Dehumidifier

The superb Meaco DD8L Dehumidifier

Continuing on with the Meaco theme I recently saw the superb Meaco DD8L Dehumidifier for sale in a local shop which has a distribution agreement with Meaco. Of course it provided an excellent opportunity for a few close up photos for your perusal.

The reasons why we love the Meaco DD8L Dehumidifier at byemould.com is because of its awesome features.

These features, are not limited to, but include:

  • Easy operational control panel
  • Lightweight
  • Fairly Quiet
  • ‘Laundry’ mode for drying clothes indoors
  • A large grille for hot air projection
  • Constant drain facility
  • Antibacterial filter – great for allergy sufferers
  • Ioniser to get rid of musty smells etc
  • Operates automatically at set humidity level meaning it only runs 10 minutes out of every hour
  • Auto shut-off when water tanks is full
  • Retains setting memory when power fails. When power resumes, after a black out, the Meaco DD8L remembers its settings and turns itself back on with those settings.

My favourite feature is that the Meaco DD8L heats the surrounding air by 10C-12C when operating. This cuts down on heating bills and is excellent for drying clothes indoors (combined with the ‘Laundry’ mode).

Frankly, it is difficult to come up with negative aspects of the DD8L. One thing that I would like to see though is a digital reading of the current relative humidity level on the control panel.

Meaco DD8L Control Panel

As you can see the Meaco DD8L control panel is neat and tidy. The control panel is very simple to operate although a person who has never used a dehumidifier before may have to glance at the instruction manual in order to operate this dehumidifier. Once you learn what the symbols on the buttons mean you will have no problem.

Meaco DD8L Filter

Meaco DD8L Filter

The filter is an anti-bacterial filter which is ideal for allergy or asthma sufferers as the result is much cleaner air than regular dust filters. The remove the filter for cleaning or replacement simply pull the handle up and out in one motion and the door will open. The empty space at the bottom of the dehumidifier is where the water container sits.

The water container features clear plastic at the front so that you can keep an eye on the water level as the tank fills up. I find it’s always best to empty dehumidifier water tanks before they are full as this avoids spillage and it keeps the dehumidifier operating instead of stopping when the water tank indicator turns the dehumidifier off.

I must add that all parts of this dehumidifier are solidly constructed.

91% Satisfaction Rate!

On Amazon the Meaco DD8L, at time of writing, has a rating of 4.6 / 5 stars which is great for a dehumidifier. Bear in mind that some people will invariably use the dehumidifier incorrectly (such as placing it right next to a wall) or for the wrong purpose.

Even the Box Looks Good!

In conclusion I am confident that if you use the Meaco DD8L correctly, and for the right job, then you will be satisfied with it. Meaco even have an extended warranty of 5 years which is something that lesser dehumidifiers don’t have.
